The history of Hampden County was published 5 years before the first of these atlases, and it names this establishment.
Numbered among the leading similar concerns of Massachusetts, and having a reputation for reliability second to none, is the Ely Lumber Company, located at the corner of Cabot and Canal streets. The present firm is successor to Watson Ely & Son, a lumber concern founded thirty years ago, and, in its day, a peer among others in Massachusetts.
