The history of Barnstable County was published 1 year after the first of these atlases, and it names this establishment.

On the day after these exercises, which was Sunday, a union service was held at the Eastham Methodist Church, led by the Methodist minister. Rev. Arthur Wadsworth, and the pastor of the Universalist Church, Rev. Hazel Kirk. Bishop Atkinson of New York delivered a fine address or sermon in which he commended the principles of the Puritan ancestors and exhorted his hearers to adopt, as their ancestors did, religion as the guide of their whole lives.
