Water washed over Mineral King Road at the 6900 foot elevation but only minor road erosion occurred.
September 2001WildfireSilver City-The Tar Fire was ignited by lightning on September 4th near Atwell Grove. The fire burned 505 acres and was managed as a resource benefit throughout the remainder of the month of September. There were no fatalities, injuries, or structures lost.
