A severe thunderstorm moved through the community of Claremont in Los Angeles County. Law enforcement reported numerous trees and power lines down due to thunderstorm winds gusting to 68 MPH.
The Padua Fire, aided by gusty Santa Ana winds, burned thousands of acres in Los Angeles County. As of the end of the month, the fire had yet to be fully contained. The fire had burned over 8,000 acres by the end of October.
