August 2003LightningBailey1 killedLighting struck and killed a man as he was riding his motorcycle. The man was struck in the head as he was riding along State Highway 24 just inside the county line.
June 2004LightningAlma1 hurtA man was hit by lightning as he ascended to the summit of Mt. Lincoln. The man was knocked unconcious for approximately 20 minutes. He suffered a ruptured ear drum as well as second and third degree burns.
August 2003LightningBailey1 hurtLightning struck a teenager while he was four-wheeling over Red Cone Pass with friends. The teenage was struck on the right side of the chest. He stopped breathing and was resuscitated by a friend.
August 2002LightningBailey1 hurtA mail carrier was struck by lightning as he inserted a key into a multi-unit mailbox. The shock knocked the man back against his transport truck, he suffered minor injuries.

County roads 59 and 333 were closed due to road damage. The hail accumulated up to 18 inches deep in spots.

Some buildings in Lake George also sustained minor damage. Trees were snapped from their bases. The tornado continued its track into Teller County.

August 2009Tornado (EF1)Lake George-North of Eleven Mile State Park, the tornado destroyed to small sheds and a camper, while a steel framed barn suffered major damage. Two homes received minor damage including: broken windows, cracked siding, lost shingles and a collapsed deck awning. At another property northeast of Lake George, another camper was flipped and destroyed. Minor damage was also observed with signs knocked down along State Highway 24. Between Eleven Mile Reservoir and Lake George, there were numerous areas of significant tree damage. Large ponderosa pines, two feet in diameter, were uprooted and snapped off.
June 2004Flash FloodEast Central Portion-Heavy rain caused flooding and flash flooding near the Hayman burn area. Floodwaters along Crystal Creek took out several private bridges, stranding the residents. A 4-ft deep arroyo in the Crystal Creek Drainage was ripped out. Two of the private fishing ponds, owned by Sportman's Paradise Club, were washed out. Floodwaters also knocked a house painter off a ladder. The extent of his injuries were unknown.
July 2004Flash FloodEast Central Portion-Heavy rain caused additional flooding and flash flooding problems in the Hayman burn area in east central Park County. Floodwaters from Vermillion and Crystal Creek, from 1 to 2 feet deep, washed across several private roads, stranding residents in their homes. Several fishing ponds at the Sportsman's Paradise Club were flooded. In addition, a deputy was stranded when her car got stuck in the mud during the flood.
July 2004Flash FloodEast Central Portion-Heavy rain caused flash flooding over extreme eastern Park County. Floodwaters topped several roads to private residences in the Hayman burn area. Several private drives along Vermillion Creek were damaged and some homes flooded.
July 2003Flash FloodEast Central Portion-Heavy rainfall, up to 1.5 inches, caused flash flooding and mudslides over another section of the Hayman burn area. A mudslide was reported in the Sportsmans Ranch area northwest of Lake George. Floodwaters inundated County Road 112 and flowed around two homes near Happy Meadow Campground.
August 2002Flash FloodBailey-Heavy rain triggered a mudslide along State Highway 285 near Bailey. Both lanes had to be closed briefly to remove debris from the highway. Several residences in the Bailey and Glenisle areas were also flooded.
June 1997LightningFairplay-Lightning knocked out radio communications between Platte Canyon and Fairplay. The time of the incident was approximated.
