Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Georgetown, the town this property stands in, in 4 storm reports between 1999 and 2012: 1 heavy rain, 1 lightning, 1 thunderstorm wind, 1 tornado. The reports record 1 injury. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 2003 | Lightning | Georgetown | 1 hurt | A teenage was injured when he was struck while camping at Herman Lake. The boy was knocked unconcious and suffered minor injuries. |
| July 2012 | Tornado (EF0) | Georgetown | - | A tornado touched down briefly but did no damage. |
| July 1999 | Heavy Rain | Georgetown | - | Heavy rainfall, up to 3 inches in an hour, triggered a massive rock and mudslide along Interstate 70 near Bakerville. The slide area was approximately 200 feet wide and 20 feet deep. Several other smaller slides were also reported along the interstate. As a result, Interstate 70 was closed for nearly 25 hours in both directions until the debris could be cleared from the roadway. The 25-hr blockage of I-70 was one of the longest of the interstate's history in Colorado. |
| May 2006 | Thunderstorm Wind | Georgetown | - | no account filed |
