Population over time

2 figures

Tangelo Park grew from 2,231 to 2,459 between 2010 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

WhenEvent Place namedHarm What the report says
May 2025Funnel CloudTangelo Park-Trained spotter reported a funnel cloud near Buena Ventura Lakes looking north.
October 2024Flash FloodTangelo Park-A period of very heavy rainfall in association with the core of Hurricane Milton moved across Orange County overnight Oct 9 - 10, resulting in widespread flash flooding across the county. An estimated 4 to 8 inches of rain fell across an area already saturated from 3 to 5 inches of rain earlier in the day. Orange County Emergency Management received reports of several water-related rescues and roads closed due to water of 1 to 3 feet in depth. Damage estimates for the flash flood event are unavailable; however, cost estimates for the entire flood event during Hurricane Milton are noted in the corresponding flood entry.
May 2020HailTangelo Park-A trained spotter reported golf ball sized hail.
July 2017Tornado (EF0)Tangelo Park-Air Traffic Controllers at the Orlando International Airport observed a brief tornado touchdown approximately 2 miles to their southwest. Several persons at the airport photographed the tornado. The tornado likely occurred in an undeveloped area of rural Orange County (Meadow Woods). No damage was reported. The (landspout) tornado developed as two strong sea breeze boundaries collided over the area, prior to any shower and thunderstorm development. Partly cloudy skies were occurring at the time. The photographs clearly showed a large radius of dust/dirt surrounding the vortex at the surface and the condensation funnel extending to the cloud base.
March 2016HailTangelo Park-Storm spotters and a retired NWS employee observed penny sized hail lasting one to two minutes in the Hunters Creek area, southwest of Orlando.
May 2014HailTangelo Park-An Orlando TV station replayed a public report of quarter sized hail falling from a severe thunderstorm in the Peppermill area of southwest Orlando.
