2 workings within 5 miles of Frostproof High School, Old: 1 producer, 1 unknown.

Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The National Weather Service names
Frostproof, the town this property stands in, in 25 storm reports between 1994 and 2023: 9 hail, 9 thunderstorm wind, 5 tornado, 1 lightning.
The reports record 2 injuries. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office
filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date
opens the federal record of that event.
A tornado touched down four times causing $50 thousand damage to cars, buildings, signs and traffic signals as well as uprooting citrus trees. A 12-year old boy was cut by flying debris. Damage included windows blown out of ten vehicles and two stores as well as destruction of roof air conditioners.
The Frostproof Police Department reported that thunderstorm winds blew down the scoreboard at a baseball field, damaged the tin roof of a commercial building and downed nine large trees in Frostproof.
The public reported, through a Peace River Electric Co-op representative, that thunderstorm winds downed trees, power lines and overturned sheds from West Frostproof to Lake Buffum.
The Frostproof fire department reported that thunderstorm winds downed a few large branches and a couple of power lines along Old State Road 8 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 and Avon Park Cut-Off Road over rural southeast Polk county.
A man watched a tornado move through his yard on the edge of town then into an orange grove. The visible funnel did not extend all the way to the ground. The tornado stripped shingles from his roof, blew over two sheds, and damaged large tree limbs. The tornado blew down 4 rows of citrus trees as it moved into the field then lifted back into the sky.
A Southwest Florida Water Management District gauge recorded 8.62 inches of rain. However, radar estimated precipitation showed a small area of 10 to 14 inches near the intersection of Highway 60 and the Kissimmee River. Homes were flooded in this area. Radar showed 1 to 3 inches of rain in the far west part of the county.
A tornado was reported on the ground by the general public. Power lines were snapped by the torndo but no significant damage was reported. Nickel size hail was also reported.
A funnel cloud moved across Crooked Lake and briefly touched down along Seminole Road. Trees were uprooted but there was no property damage or injuries.
