1024-0018 United States Department Of The Interior National Park Service National Register of Historic Places Lerner Building Cleveland, Ohio Section number Description of Physical Appearance The Lerner Building is a three story steel frame and masonry building with a rectangular plan and flat continuous use as a clothing retail store. The Lerner building is named after the original occupant, the building occupies a lot bounded to the west, east and south sides by adjacent buildings. Located three buildings west of East Fourth Street, the building is immediately adjacent to the west boundary Victorian, Richardsonian-Romanesque, Sullivanesque and other architectural styles popular during Euclid Avenue's building boom between 1910 and 1930.

Fronting 30 feet along Euclid Avenue, the Lerner building is 151 feet deep and approximately 48 feet tall, with a footprint that occupies the entire lot. The building employs the masonry foundations, basement, first floor structure, and masonry east and west of the previous structure. The previous The façade is divided horizontally into two sections, the storefront area at the first floor level, with a display window. The marble veneer is laid out in careful alignment and placement of stone to create a three sets of vertical flutes extending from above the sign board to the roof line, and a bas-relief to the historic character of the façade. The storefront retains the vitrolite style glass panels that storefront assembly. It is believed to be an element added in 1951 when Petrie's acquired the space. Page (8-86) use.
