Amos Loveday Ohio Historic Preservation Office 267 East Hudson Street Columbus, Ohio 43211 I was recently notified that the historic West Orange Road Bridge on Township Road 114 located in Liberty Township in Delaware County has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Scenic Byway by the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation on March 20, 1998. The Olentangy Heritage Corridor received scenic byway designation due to the outstanding historic, natural and scenic qualities that are documented in the corridor management plan. The corridor management plan also describes the necessary actions to help preserve and enhance these important intrinsic qualities. As sponsors of the byway, the Liberty Township Trustees are responsible for implementing this plan. The plan recommends the West Orange Road Bridge be preserved and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
On February 13, 1998 upon the recommendation of the Ohio Historic Preservation Office, ODOT elevated this bridge to selected status.
