The west side and rear of the building are plain yellow brick walls. The building was constructed at the sidewalk without a setback. It is a reinforced concrete building with gray granite base. The building fronts 102 feet along Euclid and included five bays with groupings of three one over one wood windows.It is one hundred feet deep along the east elevation. There is a mechanical penthouse above this part of the building. The ground floor originally consisted of show windows for the sale of automobiles. The showroom has been surround for the central building entrance remains intact with terra cotta ornamentation. He studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh. He came to North America in 1886, spending years in Toronto and Chicago before settling in Cleveland. His wife Agnes Childs Knox was a native of Painesville. He was also a talented water colorist and etcher, and owned a collection of etchings by famous artists. A naturalist he was considered an authority fugi of the northern states. He painted a series of water - colors of mushrooms.
