Firestone residence was the personal home of architect Charles E. Firestone. His post World War II Modernist style home was his only modern designed house and was built in 1959. The home located near Canton Ohio in Jackson Township is situated on 1.4 acres of heavily wooded land. About 60% of the 1.4 acres is wooded. The north boundary abuts a low wetland area. The west border sets against West Dale road, the south border is mostly wood lands and the east is also wooded and touches Hills and Dales village. The West Dale area is comprised of 17 homes of wood and brick.

Architectural highlights of the house include its multi-level setting into the hilly terrain of the site, open Narrative Description example of post war modern residential architecture.
