Charles Schweinfurth was born in Auburn, New York in 1856, and graduated government architect for the U. S. Treasury Department, but he found the government too restrained, and so left to work in the office of a where he became a noted, successful architect. (1890), the McClymonds House (1893), the Backus Law School, Case Western bridges over Liberty Boulevard, Cleveland (1900-01), and the Samuel Mather House (1907-10).
