The second story gable has a dentiled cornice, but the raking cornices terminate entrance doors have slightly flattened round arches, also heavily stringcourse does not continue.Even more unusual for the period, the window pattern is entirely irregular, determined solely by center of the side elevation, and the handling of the stonecutting of Meigs Street and Sycamore Line is basically Richardsonian pretense to architectural style is abandoned.The second story is fully as well done as that of the facade.The building is in rusticated.Above the entrance is a name stone inscribed "S.F.D.
