Description of the property

Constructed circa 1889 and eclectic in style, the W.H. Jones Mansion is an impressive example of late Nineteenth Century domestic architecture. Constructed in pressed, red by a circular tower with a flat roof on the north western corner. .A variety of window shapes and sizes are employed.Included among them are square, rectangular, round arched and first and second level, a large three section bowed window projects slightly on the west The Jones Mansion is richly embellished with ornamental detail. Stone carvings with plant the windows and on the columns of the porch. Contrasting stone, in a checkerboard pattern, decorates the four tall chimneys.

The outstanding interior feature is the heavily carved S- curved staircase: A carriage house, measuring approximately 35' x 75' and 2 stories in height, is located to the with conical, finial topped roof is located on the northeastern corner of the building. A beltcourse and lintels on the first level and a tall, corbelled, brick chimney. CONDITION DATE EXCELLENT facade. UNEXPOSED MOVED elevation. DETERIORATED XGOOD doors are located on the north eastern corner of the building.The composition is balanced gabled, slate roof covers the remainder of the structure.Decorative features include stone and several beltcourses.

The slate roof is high and hipped with steeply pitched gables on each second level consists of horizontal clapboards with an overlay of vertical boards.A tower The front porch with paired columns and main entrance with heavily carved double wooden decorates the gable on the facade. Scrolled ironwork appears on the porch and as cresting brick on a high ashlar stone foundation, the building is composed of irregularly massed on the roof and tower.The gables are flanked and topped with finials and corbelled brickwork paired windows, some with the original leaded or stained glass intact. Midway between the CHECK ONE forms and measures 2 1/2 stories in height. The wall surfaces are broken by a stone watertable and animal motifs appear on the beltcourse, lintels and frieze, as well as on panels between XORIGINAL SITE rear of the property.
