Description of the property

The McDannald Homestead which is located approximately 1/2 mile south of I-270 is one of the largest, best preserved rural residences in Franklin County. Erected C. 1850 it Constructed in brick laid in 5 course American bond, it rests on a stone foundation. This substantial21/2 story farmhouse measures 5 by 4 bays and is crowned with an intersecting gable The dominant feature of the 5 bay facade is the handsome, recessed entrance. The segmental rectangular 6/6 windows with stone lintels and sills and a small wooden porch. CONDITION UNALTERED UNEXPOSED DETERIORATED FAIR remains relatively unchanged today. GOOD A double row of brick headers, forming segmental jack arches are employed on the windows and X.EXCELLENT a rched windows are used throughout.The box cornice is bracketed on all elevations. CHECK ONE brick headers surround the arch within the recess and on the plane of the facade.
