The design of the Alcazar Hotel is, by intention, reminiscent of the complex in St. Augustine, Florida, which includes the Hotels Ponce de Leon and Alcazar, built by Carrere & Hastings for Henry Flagler in the 1880s. hotels, as they were built with money that was originally made in Cleveland influence, there is documentation of direct imitation.
