In 1893 the Woodland Avenue and West Side Railway merged with Cleveland City Cable anticipation of the further growth of the street railway system in Cleveland, a his duties as a United States Senator, until 1903, when the Cleveland City Railway and the Cleveland Electric Railway, a rival company, merged. By 1910 there were four powerhouses supplying power to the various railway lines and West Side Powerhouse was forced to close down.
