Name of Established District 2. Further Description of Important Features Plain stone building, with very early kitchen wing added in rear. Late porch added to corner (fel) now enclosed. Interior partially remodeled, front step and side rails consist of single large blocks of limestone. LARGE CUT STONE QUOINS (late) 3. History and Significance Built by Eliud Sells son of John Sells, founder of Dublin and the grandson of Ludwick Sells, the first white settler in Dublin. Eliud Sells ran the Black Horse Tavern and was involved in other business enterprises. Used by Eliud Sells as a tavern for a period during 1840's. One of the two oldest surviving buildings in Dublin. 4. Description of Environment and Outbuildings Landscaped residential lot with concrete block garage and frame shed. 5.
