Further Description of Important Features This building, which contains two shops, is more ornate than its neighbor, the Harbour Store (ERI 401 C5), even though both have false fronts and clapboard siding. It features a heavily carved and bracketed cornice, plate glass windows and plain door openings. This building has been carefully restored recently. 43. History and Significance A barber shop has been in continous business in this location for over one hundred years. This is a good example of early Italianate wooden commercial architecture. usually well preserved example. 44.

Description of Environment and Outbuildings Set in the middle of a contiguous group of restored commercial buildings, this structure is part of Vermilion's commercial center. 45. They continue to use the N.R. forms, with a not, sparion, yet also talk about the intact historic setting. Many of the statements of significance leave a lot to be desired. I have registered the ones that are especially poor.
