Description of the property

This nomination consists of a frame church built in 1863, a brick school, and a cemetery projecting eaves over the main facade supported by decorative paired brackets. A large door entry with elongated panels, wooden door surrounds and a flat compound lintel support- 1y a small finial rested a top the low hip of the tower which has been removed and the low exterior chimney composed of cinder block has been added to the east side facade. The interior of the church is distinguished by white painted pews with raised, stained panel ends. The communion rail is of similar design and is mounted on a low wooden platform.
The six-over-six double hung windows on the front facade and three bay side facade have several periods in time the interior has been extensively altered to accomodate various uses, the most recent is to allow the building to be used as an educational center and contain approximately 100 tombstones, dating from the early 1800's, situated on one acre of The tombstones designs are reflective of the custom and association typical for the period in which they were erected.
