Description of the property

on the top floor give this building a Neo-Gothic flavor. The present appearance is as originally constructed which accentuates the limestone base surface of the first four floors with the upper level brickwork crowned by the (Florentine style). Windows on lower floors articulated with cut stone trim, Gothic construction. Overall building condition is good with only minor deterioration. The main lobby has terrazo floor, marble wainscot, elaborate detailed brass doors, sculptered plaster ceiling, and rookwood drinking fountain. Ornate wrought iron The chapel features stone arch trimmed Gothic windows with stained glass. All renovation work will maintain the basic features and materials in the building. The lobby will be rearranged to provide separate entrances for the residential tower and for the YWCA.

Statement of significance
