Description of the property

The Louis Beatty house located alon the southern shore of Kelleys Island is Lake Erie The front entry is to the east of the two first floor windows which also have six over The two story east wing has three six over six windows on the second floor and a center has carved wooden decorations at each side of the top of original wooden posts, which accommodate a kitchen fireplace. An old summer kitchen to the rear of the east wind has a shed roof and ship-lapped weather-board siding. The front entry leads to a hall and a step to the upper story. To the left is a living main house contains two vaulted wine cellars with a capacity of 75,000 gallons. The east wing basement is a fruit cellar. Stewart & Page, 1874. Front porch over main entrance was removed in 1962 because of deterioration of wood. The interior has been redecorated without altering the basic floor plan.
