Other period features include column-supported porches, segmental- roofed dormers and paired corner pilasters with Scamozzi capitals.
The building was constructed by local contractor-builder, L.M. Witherell, who is responsible for the execution of numbers of late 19th and early 20th century houses, in 1893 as a resi- dence for Henry G. Brownell. : The Brownell House possesses integrity of design, location, setting, materials, workmanship and association and meets eriterion c of the National Register of Historic Piaces as an outstandiny example of Georgian Revival style in Taunton.
