Its beautifully-executed doorway is framed by Ionic half-columns, carrying a dentilated pediment, and inscribing a large, semi- circular, leaded fanlight. Other, intact period details include a cornice enriched with dentils and blocks, and 12/12 windows capped by splayed lintelboards. splayad Lintolboardbs a In 1726, Peter Walker purchased the land on which the house is sited, and is reputed, by local sources, to have had the structure built subsequently, as a wedding gift to his new bride, Sarah Godfrey. Possessing integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association, the Peter Walker House meets criterion C of the National Register of Historic Places for its early construction date and the high quality of its excellantly preserved Georgian period form and detailing. tahnglity of Boundarus contorm to current lot lines. 10.
