Historical significance (include explanation of themes checked above) Originally called the "East Veir School," this structure is the third oldest Taunton school in continuous use. It was built in 1895 by F.D. Williams, Irom designs of architect, E.A. Crane on land donated by prominent Taunton businessman, William Ellery Walker. Description: The school is primarily rectangular in plan, and has a rear ell and hipped roof, with large chimneys.

G/6 and 6/2 sash windows are placed regularly throughout the building. The Walker School possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association. It meets criteria A and C of the National Register of Historic Places as a good local example of restrined Georgian Revival institutional architecture, constructed during an ear of educational reform and expanding population in the City.
