Constructed ca.1830, it is a small 2-story structure with a central entry and five-bay facade. It is sheathed in clapboard and enclosed by a pitched roof with a central chimney; a small ell is attached at the west. The pedimented gable has a central window with simple enframement; a deep cornice and panelled pilasters are distinctive original features. A narrow glazed transom lights the entry.

The windows of the first story have simple enframements and contain 6/6 sash. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state history and how the building relates to the development of the commnity.) 306 Broadway possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, and workmanship. It meets criteria A and C of the National Register of Historic Places. It is significant as one of the best preserved Greek Revival houses in or near central Methuen, and is representative of housing constructed during the first period of industrial development, 1825-1860. The house is situated along the 1806 Essex Turnpike, now Broadway. Among its 19th century owners were several generations of the Silver family, most of whom were shoemakers.
