The square plan, central entry, hipped roof house has six rectangular windows per side. Each is trimmed with cornice lintels and quoins. The full porch is carried by fourteen rusticated Ionic columns. The building is constructed of cast stone and concrete block, one of few such examples in Methuen.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state history and how the building relates to the development of the community.) 262-264 Pelham Street possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials and workmanship. It is significant as a well preserved example of the use of concrete products in residential construction and is associated with Methuen's major period of residential development in the early 20th century. It meets criterion C of the National Register of Historic Places. a BIBLIOGRAPHY and/or REFERENCES (name of publication, author, date and publisher) 10M - 7/82 NPS Form 10-900-a (3-82) United States Department of the Interior National Park Service National Register of Historic Places Inventory - Nomination Form Continuation sheet Item number OMB No. 1024-0018 Exp.
