(in one paragraph) The J. F. Miller House is significant under Criterion C as a representation of the residential work of Frank L. Packard (1866-1924), a prominent Columbus, Ohio architect. In a book of their own work by Packard and his partner, Yost, entitled Architectural date the house as 1895 and are the most reliable source available for a date. The architectural features of the house are unusual in the area and constitute a mixture Style as in the irregular massing. The overall effect, however, is not nearly a vertical diamond-paned, pointed arched windows seem to derive their influence from the Early Gothic building types and functions from County courthouses and churches to residences and barns.
