Comment) The marker is located on the boundry line between the Towns of Barnstable and Sandwich basically set when the settlers purchased. most of what is now West Barnstable from the Indian Chief Serunk in 16+4. Criteria Although the precise date of its erection is unknown, the Great Hill Road boundary marker is significant for its associations with the history of Barnstable's boundary establishment. It possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling and association and meets criterion A of the National Register of Historic Places.
