It is significant as a fine and locally rare example of the Stick Style that retains even its carrige barn. The property thus meets criterion C. of the National Register of Historic Places. Thomas Gray House is a rare local example of the Stick Style, characterized by incised stick work in the numerous gables and by bold stylized pediments over many windows. stories to a hip roof with numerous cross gables, enlivening its basic T-shaped plan. A one story porch, with simple brackets and squared posts, wraps around the front of the house abutting the arms of the I. The eastern arm has a two story, three sided bay ter- minating in a conical cap.
