October 2011Thunderstorm WindPlace Corners-A National Weather Service Survey confirmed a microburst in the Town of Greenville at the Sunny Hill Resort. Winds tore part of the roof off of a building and debris and hail punctured the siding of other buildings. Estimated path width was 50 yards and length 100 yards. An eyewitness video showed a rotating wall cloud. The slope of the terrain and arrangement of the buildings contributed to acceleration of the winds over a small area.
