March 2025Thunderstorm WindShongo-A strong line of thunderstorms moved across western NY during the afternoon of 16 March 2025, with numerous wind damage reports. An area of concentrated structural damage was reported in southern Allegany County, NY as the line of thunderstorms moved northeast out of PA around 3:00 PM EDT. ||Damage was observed on a property right along the NY/PA state line near Fitzstephens Rd at the crest of the hilltop. Included was partial roof damage to two barns and a residential home along with an uprooted pine tree. One additional barn suffered more significant structural damage with multiple walls collapsed and the roof completely blown off. Roofing materials were scattered 200 to 400 yards into the adjacent field to the north and northeast of the structures with the damage path widening downwind.
