In addition to numerous trees, wires and utility poles knocked over, thunderstorm winds also damaged a flat roof to a gas station convenience store. The Dutchess County 911 Center reached 175 calls about damage from this area. Local dispatchers made calls notifying highway departments, power companies, utility companies, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (due to a transformer oil spill) and building inspectors.
