Severe thunderstorms moved across the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York as an upper level disturbance swung through the area on the afternoon of June 30th. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines across parts of Columbia, Dutchess, and Ulster Counties. In Kingston heavy rains flooded basements with up to several inches of water.
A backdoor cold front moved south from the Saint Lawrence Valley during the morning of July 6th resulting in severe thunderstorms across southern parts of eastern New York during the afternoon. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines with the most significant damage occurring when a tree fell on a house at Hartwick Seminary.
