Very dry and breezy conditions allowed a small fire to erupt briefly out of control on the afternoon of April 19 in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County. The fire scorched a 3-acre section of the Swallow Farm cornfield, located on Route 67. The blaze was extinquished in about an hour and luckily, resulted in neither injuries nor building damage.
Significant snowmelt led to moderate flooding of the Hudson River at Schuylerville. The river crested at 92.8 feet at 0600 EST on April 25th, and remained above the flood stage of 90 feet through April 30th.
The Hudson River at Mechanicville exceeded its flood stage of 53.0 feet at 6 AM EST on November 18th, crested at 53.1 feet at 9 AM EST on the 18th, before falling back below flood stage at 12:25 PM EST on the 18th.
