“The Nine Partners Meeting House and Cemetery is located at the junction of NY state highway 343 and Church Street, in the village of Millbrook, New York, United States. The meeting house, the third one on the site, was built by a group of Friends ("Quakers") from the Cape Cod region, Nantucket and Rhode Island in 1780.”

July 1995Thunderstorm WindMillbrook$20,000One of the most devastating severe weather outbreaks to hit eastern New York this century occurred on the morning of July 15th. A long lived squall line known as a derecho crossed eastern New York during the early morning hours. Extensive tree damage occurred across the area with the Adirondacks being the hardest hit. Damage estimates from the Department of Environmental Conservation indicated that some 900,000 acres of forest were damaged with 125,000 acres of timber in the Adirondack Park sustaining moderate to severe damage. The timber damage is estimated at 1 billion board feet with an estimated value of $204 million. Five deaths and eleven injuries occurred with this event. Most of the deaths and injuries were a result of trees falling on campers in the Adirondacks. Thirty-one hikers and campers had to be removed from the Adirondacks by helicopter as their path out of the woods was blocked. Extensive power outages occurred across eastern New York with 230,000 customers left without power. Livestock deaths were also reported with over 100 sheep, cattle or hogs killed. Times used during this event were estimated due to the very rapid storm movement which exceeded 60 miles an hour. (F43O,M39O,F60O,F10O,F72V)

August 1994Thunderstorm WindMillbrook$5,000A stationary front which was draped across northern Pennsylvania and southeast New York on the 13th of August was responsible for severe thunderstorms which occurred across parts of eastern New York early that morning and during the afternoon. The first round of thunderstorms occurred during the early morning hours of the 13th of August accompanied by a tremendous number of cloud to ground lightning strikes. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines in Guilderland and Troy. Later that day a second round of thunderstorms downed trees and powerlines across eastern parts of Ulster County and northern parts of Dutchess County.
