Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The federal mineral resources record lists
2 workings within 5 miles of Brick Store Building: 1 past producer, 1 producer.
1 still produces. What was taken out: Sand and Gravel, Construction. Distance is straight-line from the
map coordinates, so a quarry counted here may appear on a neighbouring
settlement's page as well.
Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The National Weather Service names
Bridgewater, the town this property stands in, in 7 storm reports between 1998 and 2014: 3 thunderstorm wind, 2 flash flood, 2 hail.
No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office
filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date
opens the federal record of that event.
Flash flooding occurred in two trailer parks in Bridgewater. Brookside Mobile Trailer Park near Route 20 was flooded when a creek came out of its banks. 6 trailers were in danger of being washed away. Fitches Trailer Park near Gulf Road flooded when a stream came out of its banks. The flooding caused an oil spill from a 275 gallon tank. Culverts were unclogged and the water went down fast enough that little damage occurred at either park. Radar estimates were 3 to 4 inches.
Heavy rain caused flash flooding. Water covered roads. Lots of ponding of water on roads. State Route 20 closed in a few locations. Rainfall rates were estimated at 2 to 3 inches an hour. The area got 2 to 4 inches of rain.
A severe thunderstorm moved across northern Oneida county around midday. Trees and wires were blown down in Bridgewater at 12:50 pm. A hay wagon was overturned in Vienna at 12:55 pm EDT.
