This is the Register Booke of S* Margarett Moyses parish in Fry day streete in the Ward of Bread Streete, London. Beginning in the yeare of our Lord Grod one thousand six hundred Fifty and Three F^or the Mariages, Christnings, and Burialls made in the same Parish.

Bee it remembred That whereas itt appeareth to mee Thomas Foot, one of the Aldermen and one of the Justices of pence within the citty of London by a Certificate vnder the Hands of divers Inhabitants of the parrish of Margaret Moses, London, That Robert Stoakes of the parrish aforesaid, being an able and honest person, was on the xxij th of September 1653, by the greater part of the Inhabitants and Householders of the said pish chargeable to the Reliefe of the poore then present, made choyce of to bee the Parrish Register there in the parish aforesaid, according to a late Act of Parliam 1 made and Intituled An Act touching Marriages and the Registring thereof, And also touching Births and Burialls, I, the said Thomas Foot, having sworne the said Robert Stoakes well & truely to execute the office of' Parrish Regeste v within the said pish, Doe by these presents Aproove of the said Robert Stoakes to bee the parrish register of the said pish, and to have the safe keeping of the booke provided by the same pish for the Registring of all Marriages and of all Births of Children, & buriall of all sorts of people within the pish aforesaid according to the forme of the Act aforesaid, which I doe hereby signify vnder my hand the xij th day of October 1653.
