Several trees were knocked over by the winds which were estimated at over 58 mph. Vegetation was completely stripped from trees and shrubs across the area. Birds and poultry were killed by the storm. Widespread damage was reported to vehicle windows and bodies. Many fields were reported to have been stripped of all vegetation by the storm. Heavy rain accompanied the storm, with up to 3.5 inch accumulations reported.

This caused widespread flash flooding as well as river flooding on the Guadalupe River. As many as 100 houses were affected by high water in and around Cuero. The Guadalupe River at Cuero crested at 44.36 feet, it's second highest crest on record. Damages due to flooding and river flooding is estimated from Emergency Management to be near 3 million dollars.

As additional rainfall developed in the late morning of September 3, flash flooding developed very quickly and continued into the mid afternoon. This time the heaviest rainfall was over the southern parts of Atascosa and DeWitt Counties and over the western part of Lavaca County, where general 1 inch rainfall was reported with isolated totals to 3 inches in Atascosa and Lavaca Counties and 4 inches in DeWitt County. Flash flooding spread across all of the 3 counties. Damage was reported only to roads and bridges.
