May 2015Flash FloodFlatonia-Roads at Highway 95 and 609 were closed due to high water. Also, a number of low water crossings within the city of Flatonia had water flowing over them.
November 2007Flash FloodFlatonia-Thunderstorms moved slowly across southern Fayette County during the evening of November 17 producing very heavy rainfall. Radar estimates showed in excess of 4 inches of rain from 6 PM until midnight and CoCoRAHS observer La Grange 10.2NW reported 7.96 inches in 24 hours ending at 8 AM on November 18. The heavy rain led to flash flooding which closed Highway 90 from Flatonia to Schulenburg due to water over the road.
June 2004Flash FloodFlatonia-Between 2 and 3 inches of rain fell in the mid afternoon between Flatonia and Schulenburg. Maximum totals were reported to be near 4 inches between the two towns. Flash flooding closed several roads, including FM209 and SH95.
January 1994HailFlatonia-Hail between 0.50 and 1.00-inch-diameter was reported in the southern portion of Fayette County , near Flatonia. A radio station in LaGrange relayed a report of pea-size to marble-size hail in Schulenberg. TEXAS, Southern Cont'd
February 1993HailFlatonia-Several reports of large hail were made in the county. Golf ball-size hail was reported by a rainfall observer west of Fayette. A weather observer reported quarter-size hail in Schulenburg, nickel-size hail was also reported by a radio station in town a few minutes later. The public reported golf ball-size hail in downtown Flatonia.
