The South Wichita River crested at 15.9 feet, 3.9 feet above flood stage, at 7:00 am CST on October 16, and remained above flood stage from 2:30 am CST on October 15 to 10:00 pm CST on October 16. Flooding of agricultural lands along the river in Knox County occurred during this event.
August 2005Flash FloodBenjamin-Flash flooding initially occurred along the South Wichita River in Knox County during the afternoon of August 14 when the river overtopped its banks, 4 miles north of Benjamin, and flooded areas near the river.

In Knox County in Benjamin, severe thunderstorm winds blew a grain elevator over onto nearby power lines, and an hour later, downed limbs as large as five inches in diameter.
