In the yard of the Smaw-Knight housed now destroyed. Large columns lying in the yard came from the Tinker Place (demolished) outside of Greensboro. The woman who formerly owned the Knight Place refused a large sum for them, and they lay in this, yard exposed to the weather for years. Since this photograph (July 29, was taken, they have entirely disintegrated. Statement by Virginia R- Withers, sister of the present owner of the "Knight Place", Miss Louise F.
