Aside from its historic interest the Turner-Dixon house was selected for photographing because it is the most pretentious old home in Lowndesboro. The building has a two-storey Greek Doric porch on two adjoining sides. The entablature carries curlicue brackets, a pair emphasizing the space over each column.
