Population over time
2 figuresCasa Blanca grew from 1,388 to 1,727 between 2010 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

Storms near this place
6 since 1997Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Casa Blanca in 6 storm reports between 1997 and 2019: 3 thunderstorm wind, 1 heavy rain, 1 flood, 1 funnel cloud. The reports record 1 injury. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 1997 | Thunderstorm Wind | Casa Blanca | 1 hurt | The second of two microbursts struck Casa Blanca, this one with more fury. It produced damage in the vicinity of Southern Road and Ruins Road, and destroyed three trailers, snapped eight power poles, knocked down trees, and caused minor injuries to one individual. |
| December 2019 | Funnel Cloud | Casa Blanca | - | A funnel cloud developed over northwest Pinal county west of SR-347. The funnel was confirmed via multiple social media photos observing the funnel from near SR-347 and Riggs Rd in Maricopa county. The funnel was reported to have reached about three quarters of the way to the ground. |
| July 2017 | Flood | Casa Blanca | - | Thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall developed over much of the east and southeast portions of the greater Phoenix area during the morning hours on July 24th; peak rain rates as high as 2 inches per hour were observed and this led to episodes of flash flooding which continued into the early afternoon. One of the areas affected by the heavy rain was the community of Santan, to the southeast of Phoenix. After the initial, flash flood producing rains had subsided, considerable water was left behind, inundating roads and leading to episodes of areal flooding. At 1358MST an Emergency Manager reported that many roads in the area around Santan were flooded and closed. Additionally, a Maricopa County stream gage around 3 miles northwest of Santan indicated that flood stage had been exceeded. Flooding continued into the afternoon hours before the water subsided. |
| May 2012 | Thunderstorm Wind | Casa Blanca | - | An upper level low pressure system moving eastward across southern Arizona spread moisture into eastern Arizona and scattered thunderstorms developed over the central deserts during the afternoon hours on May 9th. A few of the storms generated strong, damaging microburst winds. At 5 PM, a 58 MPH wind gust was measured four miles north of the town of Maricopa. The wind gust was reported by an official COOP weather observer. |
| August 2010 | Heavy Rain | Casa Blanca | - | Strong thunderstorms produced locally heavy rainfall across portions of west central Pinal county, including the town of Maricopa and the Ak-Chin Village. Radar and trained spotters indicated up to 3 inches of rain fell along the Santa Rosa and Green washes, and several reports of curb-to-curb street flooding in Maricopa were received. |
| August 1997 | Thunderstorm Wind | Casa Blanca | - | In the vicinity of Casa Blanca Road and Ruins Road, a microburst caused damage to a softball field where dugouts were blown over and smashed, with one piece of dugout blown across the road. It also blew a prefabricated home off its foundation. A satellite dish was uprooted, and two power poles snapped. Roof damage was observed, a stop sign was twisted and blown over, and an awning was blown off at the southeast corner of Casa Blanca Road and Ruins Road. |
