The history of Franklin County was published 14 years after the first of these atlases, and it names this establishment.

. The Court House { uow the Gazette buildiugj is seen with a small spire, on the left; the first building northward was the Greenfield Bank (now the First National). The Second Congregational Church (the Old Brick) is seen on the right; the High School for Young Ladies, established in 1828, is a short distance to the south, while north of the Church is the Roger Newton House, moved back upon Newton Place when a new Court House was built.
