Storms near this place
7 since 2007Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Norristown Junction in 7 storm reports between 2007 and 2025: 5 thunderstorm wind, 1 tornado, 1 hail. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| October 2010 | Hail | Norristown Junction | $30,000 | Numerous reports of hail the size of quarters or larger were received from the public and the Emanuel County Emergency Management Director from across the county. While most of the hail reported was of the size of quarters, half-dollar to golf ball-sized hail was observed. In addition, one tree was down on U.S. Highway 221 north. |
| April 2007 | Tornado (EF1) | Norristown Junction | $30,000 | The storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF1 tornado, that originally began back in western Treutlen county near Orland, traveled into extreme western Emanuel county across the city of Adrian, then into far southeastern Johnson county, crossed back one final time into Emanuel county before lifting about three miles north-northeast of Adrian, or about five miles west of Norristown Junction in extreme southwest Emanuel county. This portion of the track was approximately one mile long. Since this portion of the tornado traveled across a largely rural, forested area, damage was confined mostly to downed trees. However, one unsecured mobile home in this portion of the county was destroyed. |
| August 2015 | Thunderstorm Wind | Norristown Junction | $25,000 | The Emanuel County 911 Center reported numerous trees and power lines blown down across the county. Much of the county was without electricity for some time. |

| June 2025 | Thunderstorm Wind | Norristown Junction | $5,000 | Multiple trees down near Wes Lawson Road and Alton Lawson Road. |
| June 2020 | Thunderstorm Wind | Norristown Junction | $5,000 | The Emanuel County Emergency Manager reported a few trees and power lines blown down from Dellwood and Swainsboro to twin City. |
| July 2023 | Thunderstorm Wind | Norristown Junction | $3,000 | Multiple trees reported down over and along Hwy 221 near Blueberry Farm Rd. |
