County Road 130 Bridge is representative of the rivet-connected Warren pony truss with verticals and is the only such bridge recorded in Dade County. Based on the context of the Georgia Historic Bridge Survey the structure fits into the era of "historic" bridge building in Georgia and is a good intact example of the kind of smaller metal-truss bridges built in the northern part of the State during the "historic" period.

Jayne H. Maxwell, January 1 Edited, Retyped and Transmitted by. Jean P. Yearby, HAER, County Road 130 Bridge HAER No. GA-45 (Page 2) County Road 130 Bridge is a rivet-connected Warren pony truss with verticals. It is one of seventy-one Warren truss bridges recorded in the Georgia Historic Bridge Survey one of sixty-eight trusses identified as a Warren pony truss, and one of fifty-six identified as a Warren pony truss with verticals. The historical context of this bridge is unknown. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) was established in Prior to its establishment, the responsibility of roads and bridges rested with the counties.

It has been found from researching a number of bridges in the that records of construction of bridges on county, rural and, to a large degree, state systems were rarely kept. Therefore, unless the bridge possesses a bridgeplate identifying the date of construction, the bridge company or the county officers at the time of construction, it is virtually impossible to associate the bridge with historical events, periods, activities, or people.
