The chapter on Center Township in Combination Atlas Map of Clinton County, Indiana, published 1878 names Frankfort. This is what it says, exactly as the scans read.

Mr. Armstrong is still a resident of the township, owning a well improved farm, situated near Frankfort. He and the Douglass brothers are the only persons who settled in the township in 1878 who are yet living and still residents of the county.
