Population over time

2 figures

Little Canada grew from 9,773 to 10,819 between 2010 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

July 2005Thunderstorm WindLittle Canada-Trees were downed.
July 2000Thunderstorm WindLittle Canada-Damage survey showed that an intense downburst-producing mesocyclone moved southeast from Little Canada (near Interstates 694 and 35E) to the east side of St. Paul (the Beaver Lake area). Thousands of trees were down as well as numerous power lines. Many trees came down on houses and vehicles. An unconfirmed funnel cloud was reported just south of Lake Phalen, but there was no indication of any tornado touchdown according to the damage survey. Interestingly, the vast majority of the downed trees were oriented from southeast to northwest, even though the mesocyclone was moving to the southeast. It is possible (but uncertain) that this mesocyclone was the same one that hit Blaine and Circle Pines of Anoka County (see entry).
